Monumental
Monument Valley is an incredible place.

This is one of those images that just looks great printed large. I have seen it printed at 90 x 36 inches and was impressed by the quality and impact.
Nikon D3X, 7 image stitch.

Wow that is stunning. Really love it, perfect contrast between the lovely reds of the buttes and the snow and great dramatic sky. I might crop a bit more of the bottom but that’s nitpicking, it’s brilliant.

Thanks Flemming. Yeah I must admit I have been meaning to take a smidge of the bottom

I like the crop the way that it is. The bits of dark at the bottom add weight and anchor things. If you had an all white foreground the monuments might seem to float on clouds.
This ia an absolutely stunning image, well done Luke.

Thanks John. Yeah the only part I personally was referring to cropping was the tiny bit of bush/scrub creeping into the middle/bottom of the frame.

sorry to be the only one who isn’t sure about this image Luke. The sky looks weird, sort of burnt in across the top. I would like to see the monuments more saturated like a brilliant burst of sun hitting them. Sorry mate it is a Merv Nup for me. The scene is beautiful though.

I was thinking the same as Christian. The top looks a little strange. I’d like to see a slight bit cropped off the top and bottom of the photo to bring it to the traditional 3:1 ratio, or at least close to it. Having said that, i’m sure it looks great printed out as is at 90″ like you said.

Shit Luke you must be getting sick of wandering around in below feezing temps by now,
I like the pic and the drama it has about it but reckon a bit more brightening up of the red monuments probably wouldn’t hurt, but then again ????

Just stunning…I like the colour just as it is – it’s different from those desert reds you see in most Monument shots and so, for me, it has a nice point of difference.
